Patriotic Group to Build Armed ‘Defensible’ Neighborhood Fortress
1Source: http://spreadlibertynews.com
A group of like-minded patriots, bound together by pride in American exceptionalism, plan on building an armed community to protect their liberty.
The group, named Citadel, intends to purchase 2,000 to 3,000 acres for the project in western Idaho. The community will comprise of 3,500 to 7,000 families of patriotic Americans who “voluntarily choose to live together in accordance with Thomas Jefferson’s ideal of Rightful Liberty.”
According to the Citadel website, Rightful Liberty means that “neighbors keep their noses out of other neighbors’ business, that neighbors live and let live.”
Citadel explains that residents in the community will be bound by the following:
- Patriotism
- Pride in American Exceptionalism
- Our proud history of Liberty as defined by our Founding Fathers, and
- Physical preparedness to survive and prevail in the face of natural catastrophes –such as Hurricanes Sandy or Katrina — or man-made catastrophes such as a power grid failure or economic collapse.
Residents should also agree that being “prepared for the emergencies of life and being proficient with the American icon of Liberty — the Rifle — are prudent measures.”
Some of the benefits of the Citadel community include a safe, well-prepared, patriotic community where children will be educated in school, not indoctrinated.
The community will be protected by a perimeter wall that will be inaccessible to “tourists.” Each neighborhood within the community will have lower walls, dividing the town into defensible sections.
The website has a link to applications where prospective residents can sign up. According to Citadel, more than 200 families have completed applications, even before any land has been purchased.
While Citadel may sound wonderful to many who are reading this, the community has posted a warning on their home page:
“Marxists, Socialists, Liberals and Establishment Republicans will likely find that life in our community is incompatible with their existing ideology and preferred lifestyles.”
Citadel says that every patriot selected to live within the community “will voluntarily agree to follow the footsteps of our Founding Fathers by swearing to one another our lives, our fortunes and our Sacred Honor to defend one another and Liberty against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”

Ron Paul rallies supporters for third stop in Idaho

The battle for Idaho’s delegates continued on Saturday as Congressman Ron Paul made another stop in Idaho.
This is the third appearance in Boise by a Republican Presidential Candidate this week, after Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney stopped by the City of Trees.
People were lined up waiting to get into CenturyLink Arena for close to two hours Saturday morning, all to see Congressman and Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul.
“He’s the only candidate that’s really got a pro limited government message,” said Ryan Davidson with Idahoans for Liberty, a group trying to get Paul the Republican nomination. “The other candidates talk a good game, but Ron Paul’s got a 24-year track record in Congress to prove it.”
Davidson said he’s thrilled that Paul made three appearances in Idaho this week (Twin Falls, Moscow, and Boise).
“That was great,” said Davidson. “It was more than we were hoping for, I’m glad he’s putting in the time in Idaho.”
Around 2,400 people packed into the arena to listen and and cheer at every opportunity for Paul’s message of state’s rights and limited government, .
When asked about his supporters looking at him like a rock star, Paul responded, “Yeah, it embarrasses me.”
Embarrassment aside, Paul said the turnouts for his events in Idaho have exceeded expectations at every stop. He said that’s a good sign for the future.
“There is a momentum building,” said Paul. “But, I’ve seen this in our campaign for quite a few months, if not for years. It’s been slow, steady growth. A lot of people say once you join our campaign, you usually never leave. The other candidates, you’ve seen sharp increases and then sharp decreases.”
Paul said the fact that he’s made more stops in Idaho than any other candidate absolutely means that he’s put a priority on winning the Idaho Caucus and the Gem State’s 32 delegates.
“That should be the goal,” said Paul. “We want to get as many delegates as possible and we feel very good. I mean, the enthusiasm here has been fantastic and it’s been that way. So we’re optimistic.”
This was Paul’s final stop on a whirlwind tour of Idaho and the Northwest. His next stop is Kansas City, Saturday night.
We’ll have more from Congressman Paul, and the other Republican Presidential Candidates to visit Idaho this week (Governor Romney and Senator Santorum) Sunday on Viewpoint at 9 a.m.

Ron Paul surprises party establishment by winning Idaho GOP straw poll in Garden City

Despite a speech from U.S. Sen. Jim Risch backing Mitt Romney, Rep. Ron Paul won Friday’s pay-to-play vote. Paul’s surrogate was Washington state Rep. Matt Shea of Spokane Valley.
How strong a win? The former Libertarian got 43 percent (173 votes) to the former Massachusetts governor’s 34 percent (135). Trailing them were Newt Gingrich with 12 percent (47 votes), Rick Santorum at 10 percent (40) and Jon Huntsman with 1 percent (4). A total of 399 people from across Idaho participated. Rick Perry’s campaign asked not to be included on the straw poll ballot.
What’s it mean? It cost $30 to participate, and party officials cautioned against making too much of the result. The poll was a party fundraiser held at the Riverside Hotel in Garden City.
Whoops of joy: Paulies were jubilant. “It feels so good,” said Chris MacCloud of Meridian. “Just a lot of hard work, time and energy.”
New plan for GOP: Idaho Republicans are using a caucus for the first time this year. They also moved up the delegate-selection date from a May primary to the March 6 caucus on Super Tuesday — which features GOP contests in 10 states — in hopes of having a role in picking the nominee. Party officials hope for 15,000 to caucus in Ada and Canyon counties alone.
