#StopNDAA - What Obama and Romney didn't touch on during the debate

The defense bill that lets the government indefinitely detain any US citizen without charge or trial wasn’t mentioned once during the three presidential debates, but that didn’t stop activists from sounding off: #StopNDAA went worldwide Monday night.

A campaign aimed at drawing awareness to the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012 and a draconian provision that provides the government the power to lock-up any person on mere suspicion of terrorist ties succeeded during Monday’s third and final presidential debate. “#StopNDAA” was among the most popular hashtags included in messages sent over Twitter Monday night, at one point entering the list of top worldwide trends.

The action was coordinated thanks in part to a grassroots campaign orchestrated by Revolution Truth and Demand Progress, among others, advertised through StopNDAA.org and endorsed by thousands of activists across the globe.

“Both parties are colluding in denying you your First and Fifth amendment rights under the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act, and both candidates refuse to discuss this bipartisan assault on civil liberties,” a message posted on the Stop NDAA website reads.

Elsewhere on the site, examples of sample tweets were included alongside information about the annual Pentagon spending blueprint that was drafted last year to include a provision, Section 1021, that affirms that the president can use military force to imprison any person considered to have “substantially supported” a terrorist group engaged in hostilities against the US or its allies. Under the law, though, the commander-in-chief can also lock-up any individual until a vaguely defined “end of hostilities” without ever being required to try them in a court of law.

GMO victory within reach? Proposition 37 is ‘likely to pass’ declares LA Times (but your help still needed!)

GMO victory within reach? Proposition 37 is 'likely to pass' declares LA Times (but your help still needed!) Learn more: http://www.naturalnews.com/037353_Proposition_37_GMO_labeling_poll.html#ixzz284xVBs8G(NaturalNews) Proposition 37, the GMO labeling bill that’s on the ballot in California, is polling 2-to-1 in favor of passing, the LA Times is now reporting. 61% of registered voters currently support GMO labeling, and only 25% oppose it.

This high support rate is the result of a massive, decentralized grassroots effort involving non-profits, independent news outlets (like Natural News), educators like Jeffrey Smith, activists like Ronnie Cummins, large financial donors like Dr. Mercola, honest companies like Dr. Bronner, and countless volunteers who have donated their time, money and effort to get Proposition 37 passed.

But this race is nowhere near over. Huge corporations are, of course, lined up in opposition of Proposition 37 because they don’t want you to know that you’re eating GMO. Monsanto, Dupont, Coca-Cola, Pepsico and all the other usual suspects have funneled tens of millions of dollars into defeating Prop 37, and their ads have only begun to start running.

Over the next four weeks, these corporate liars are going to pummel California voters with a barrage of disinformation about Proposition 37 in a desperate bid to defeat this ballot measure. “Their upcoming avalanche of attack ads will try to scare voters into believing food costs will go up if Proposition 37 passes, using bogus figures from bogus ‘studies’ funded by their own campaign,” explained Gary Ruskin, campaign manager for YES on 37.

What’s really funny about these attack ads, by the way, is that they never use the words “genetically modified” or “GMO” because they know people don’t want GMO! So they try to pretend Prop 37 is about something else entirely, hoping to confuse voters into voting it down.

Your help is desperately needed in this final hour

Right now, we’ve got to fight money with money. We’ve already achieved huge success just getting this measure on the ballot. We’ve waged a wildly successful grassroots activism campaign on the internet, spreading the message of GMO labeling across Facebook, Twitter, email, YouTube and websites. This victory is now within reach, and it would be one of the most significant consumer victories in the history of America!

Ron Paul Supporters Disrupt RNC, Fight For Ron Paul Delegates to Be Seated at Convention

The Republican National Convention saw some uneasy disruption from within its own ranks on Tuesday, as Ron Paul supporters vocally protested the removing of Ron Paul delegates.

Ron Paul supporters burst out into chants and protests at the Republican convention on Tuesday afternoon, shouting “point of order!” in unison to protest the RNC’s decision not to seat Paul delegates from Maine. A point of order is a matter raised during consideration of a motion concerning the rules of parliamentary procedure.

They also battled rules changes for the 2016 primaries that they warn will reduce the grassroot’s impact. Mitt Romney supporters tried to drown them out with chants of “USA!”

Here’s how it played out:

Chants of “let them sit” erupted on the convention floor supporting Maine’s Ron Paul delegates stripped of their seats. Ron Paul-leaning delegates from Oklahoma and Oregon were allowed to sit.

Worldwide press coverage expected for Ron Paul’s rally at Sun Dome

As this Congressman did 4 years ago in response to being basically shut-out of the Republican National Convention, Ron Paul has again organized his own large event nearby. He is currently not invited to attend the convention and is only going to be given a video tribute at the RNC similar to what a great man might receive after he is dead.

Although there has been speculation for weeks that Ron Paul was never invited to speak at the convention, it has been recently revealed that he was offered a speaking spot but it came with 2 strings attached. He would have to submit his speech for approval and vetting by the Romney team. He would also have to fully endorse Mitt Romney for President. Dr. Paul declined the offer due to these compromising conditions. In an interview reported by the New York Times, he is quoted as saying that “It wouldn’t be my speech” and “That would undo everything I have done in the last 30 years. I don’t fully endorse him for President.”

It should also be noted that Ron Paul never suspended his campaign, the legal battles over his delegates continues onto Tampa and the delegates have not formally voted to make any candidate their nominee yet.

Over the last 4 years, his popularity and influence has continued to explode across the worldwide stage. The Paul campaign had previously stated that news organizations from all over the world have been contacting them with their desire to cover this event which takes place on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 26, 2012. It is now being reported that C-Span has chosen to air a significant portion of the event. Although other American news networks will be in attendance, it is unlikely that any others will actually be airing it.

My priorities:

Defend and protect the Constitution, as in my oath
Defend and support the message of freedom and liberty
Support Ron Paul in his delivery of this message
Support NO political party or person that would be considered repugnant to the Constitution!
Final note, after watching this video an advertisement for Bob Corker came on via the now commercialized YouTube. Not a fan or supporter of this RINO pro war, big government, anti-freedom and liberty politician. If there is a bill against We The People feel confident Corker is voting yes. Should you be a sheep that supports Corker feel free to leave any friendship / follow connection that we might have.

Will South Dakota voters rock the nation?

Will South Dakota voters rock the nation and send message to the establishment?

With the mainstream’s agenda of pushing Mitt Romney down Republican voters’ throats even though no one has clinched the nomination yet, will South Dakota provide some much needed push-back by coming out in droves in favor of the other candidate still in the race, Ron Paul?

Although it barely made a whisper in the national news, the fact is that the very first state that had polled Ron Paul in first place was actually South Dakota.  This was way back in December when there was still a crowded field of challengers in the race.  While a poll that old cannot be relied upon today, it is certainly an indicator of support that could be seized upon if there is a significant effort put forth by grassroots activists reminding voters that there are still 2 candidates left in this race.

The truth is that the Paul campaign has been racking up endorsements throughout South Dakota over the past week.  Although the most recent comments made by Sioux Falls City Councilman, Kermit Staggers is not an official endorsement, it has gone mega viral over the last few days.  In a recent op-ed written by Staggers in the Argus Leader, one of his last sentences has sparked the already burning flame of anti-establishment activism throughout the state.

If Romney wins overwhelmingly, the message would be that state Republicans are satisfied with their party’s presumptive nominee. But if Paul wins a large percentage of the vote plus delegates, the message would be that Republicans are not satisfied with Romney and/or that the cause of freedom and liberty still resonates in the hearts of South Dakotans.

The last line in that quote has been translated into a dialogue of:  “Show the nation that South Dakota still fights for freedom and liberty.  Vote for Ron Paul!”  Possibly, nobody else could have done a better job at starting that message than South Dakota’s own “Dr. No”.  Current Sioux Falls City Councilman Kermit Staggers earned that nickname while serving 8 years in the State Senate.  You might say he was the “Ron Paul” of the state legislature fighting against unnecessary spending.

Ron Paul’s campaign has acknowledged 2 official endorsements from South Dakota recently.  State Representative Jon Hansen of Dell Rapids stated, “Ron Paul’s consistency and integrity goes unmatched in today’s political environment.”  On the complete opposite side of the state, Rapid City Councilman Jordan Mason stated in his official endorsement, “I stand for strong fiscal policy.  I stand for solving our problems at home before we try to solve other countries’ problems abroad.  I stand for liberty and I stand for the American dream.  And so I stand for Ron Paul.”

Meanwhile, the grassroots efforts are also fired-up.  There is a new unconnected PAC called “South Dakota for Liberty” that is currently having a major moneybomb going on throughout this weekend hoping to meet their goal of raising at least $25,000 in order to help get out the vote.  In just one day, they have already raised over $9,000.

A Sioux Falls meetup group has been engaged in door-to-door canvassing.  The PAC has recently opened-up an office in the downtown area which is located at 220 S. Phillips Avenue for the purpose of phone banking and to organize grassroots efforts.

If there is one thing that South Dakotans still love, it is to fight their way into the national spotlight.  With that said, I hope that South Dakota voters choose to ROCK THE ESTABLISHMENT on the 5th of June!

Grassroots Defined

Grassroots Defined

Each day, I go through stories similar to this one. Some I share, others I don’t. Yet, each demonstrates how Ron Paul supporters are reshaping the Republican Party from the bottom-up. From a story in Washington’s Bellingham Herald titled “Whatcom GOP sees flood of precinct filings from Ron Paul supporters:”

Ron Paul supporters filed en masse to run for Republican Party precinct committee officers, grass-roots elected seats that will be on this year’s primary election ballot.

The goal, said one PCO race newcomer, is to return the party to the principles it used to have.

“It needs to change,” said Greg Parsons, who is running against PCO Kathy Kershner. “I do have some issues with establishment Republicans. On the contrary, I think we are, in fact, the real, true conservative Republicans.”

PCO seats, elected every two years, often receive no interest, or only one person files. This year, because of a flood of interest in Republican PCO seats, many more contested races will be on the ballot…

But nearly an equal number of names unfamiliar to party officials appeared on the filing list, and many challenged longtime PCOs. By comparing them to the list of caucus participants, they learned they are Paul supporters, Van Werven said.

“I suspect that they are interested in organizing – reorganizing – the local Republican Party,” Van Werven said.

Top 10 Most Amazing Ron Paul Campus Stump Speeches

Top 10 Most Amazing Ron Paul Campus Stump Speeches - Flickr

While the mainstream media may view the 2012 election as a two-man race between President Obama and Governor Mitt Romney, Texas Congressman Ron Paul is quietly changing that narrative. Although the GOP establishment is desperately trying to prevent Paul from winning delegates and even threatening to ban them from the August convention, his campaign will be a serious threat to Romney.

Paul’s campaign is built on passionate grassroots support, especially among young people. He has been delivering stump speeches to campuses all around the country preaching his philosophy of peace, individual liberty, free markets, and constitutional government.

Despite virtually no press coverage, Paul attracts thousands of supporters and frustrated Republicans and Democrats wherever he goes, preaching the same message whether in Texas or Berkeley. With no notes and no teleprompter, Paul’s stump speeches give prophetic warnings rather than soundbites and partisan demagoguery, articulating why a free society is the best path towards peace and prosperity.

Here are my top 10 of Paul’s campus stump speeches.

Ron Paul Moneybomb: The Revolution Will Not Be Televised

0

Source: http://www.ronpaul2012.com

By Jack Hunter

If there’s one thing I’ve been ticked off about in the last few weeks it’s the the lack of media coverage of the massive crowds Ron Paul continues to draw each stop he makes. I’m sorry, but even for reporters who’ve written Paul off–this is a story. Why does Ron Paul continue to attract such a vast audience? Why are his audiences so enthusiastic? What’s his secret? A few local news affiliates have asked these questions. The national media has ignored the entire phenomenon.

And make no mistake, it is phenomenal. What we’re witnessing with Ron Paul and his movement is an ideological and generational shift from the politics of old to a true message of liberty, prosperity and the promise of a better future. The other candidates in this race represent a broken status quo that many are still willing to endure, while Paul represents a new electorate that rejects that system wholesale. What Ron Paul is doing right now will continue to bear fruit for years to come, gauged not only by the various Ron Paul Republicans running for House and Senate seats (this year’s crop alone is shaping up nicely) but in Americans’ attitudes about government in general. Paul’s ideas have already shaped this race, something even his critics will admit.

The GOP establishment represents the past. We represent the future. Mitt Romney is running a campaign. Ron Paul is spearheading a revolution.

Coming off of victories yesterday in Colorado and Minnesota, the April 15th money bomb will give us the resources to take the revolution all the way to Tampa where our voices will not be ignored. The following grassroots video expresses well much of what I’ve said here. Dr. Paul really does have the best supporters in the world:
