Need Heroin? Just Head To Your Friendly Neighborhood McDonalds
While we are sure it is hard to make ends meet on the minimum-wage-paying positions at fast food restaurants these days; the lengths that one McDonald’s employee in Pittsburgh went to subsidize her income could be a little much. As CNN reports, Shantia Dennis, 26, would drop a handy baggy of heroin in drive-thru customers’ boxes if they uttered the secret phrase “I’d like to order a toy” with their food order. Police recovered over 50 bags of heroin and a small amount of marijuana… brings a whole new meaning to the term “Happy Meal”.
Crony Media Continues to Fail: CNN Hits Lowest Rated Week In Demo Since Jeff Zucker Took Over
For those who don’t remember it was Jeff Zucker’s 15 year old son who was named to the board of Cory Booker’s startup company and was awarded options last year.
Not that this has anything to do with CNN’s dismal ratings. It doesn’t, but it reflects the executive culture which permeates #oldmedia still. The big shots in #oldmedia still think they’re big shots even as they are left behind.
The New York Times is floundering. Same with all the big newspapers. NBC, CBS, ABC all deeply challenged especially on the news front. The gate keepers no longer keep the gate, but they continue to act as if they do.
Let them keep thinking this. It’s better for everyone else.

Thieves Are Using “Mystery Gadgets” To Electronically Unlock Cars And Steal What Is Inside
All over America, criminals are using improvised electronic devices to electronically unlock vehicles and steal whatever they find inside. These “mystery gadgets” reportedly recreate the same signals that the key fobs that so many of us carry around send out. As you will see below, footage is popping up nationwide of thieves using these “mystery gadgets” to remotely unlock car doors and disable alarm systems. Once a car has been unlocked, it takes these thieves just a few moments to take what they want before leaving without a trace. This is now happening all over the country, and authorities do not know any way to prevent it from happening. For now, the most common piece of advice that police are giving to people is to not leave any valuables inside your vehicle at all.
When reports of this sort of crime first came out, even car manufacturers were totally stumped. Nobody could figure out how this was happening, and CNN startled a lot of people when they started reporting on this. The following is an excerpt from one of those reports…
Police across the country are stumped by a rash of car thefts. In surveillance video of the thefts, criminals appear to open locked cars with a mysterious handheld device.
Nobody, not even the car manufacturers, knows how it works.
In Long Beach, Calif. The man walked up to the car, and used a small box to open it. Right next to him another man, also using a box, opens that car.
The problem is they’re thieves without keys. Now they’ve swiped all valuables from the cars.
In Chicago, it was the exact same scenario. A man by a sedan unlocked it without a key. The alarm was disabled by some mystery device.
Video of the entire CNN report is posted below…
Did you know that this was happening?
I certainly didn’t.
But it has apparently been going on all over the country.
For example, similar reports of “high-tech wireless thievery” have also been reported in New Jersey…
Police in Galloway Township, New Jersey are looking for the thieves who’ve been breaking into cars.
It’s happened about 30 times throughout the township, and this isn’t a matter of a bandit busting a window. This is high-tech wireless thievery.
In those cases, police believe that a device similar to the ones that CNN was describing was being used…
“These thieves are using some sort of RF [radio frequency] device, which is sending an electronic signal toward the vehicles, unlocking the vehicle and disabling the alarm as well, allowing the thieves to enter the vehicle and remove valuables without being detected,” said Detective Ryan Goehringer.
And check out what happened up in Canada just a few days ago…
Vicky Mackie and her friend are both certain she locked the doors of her 2013 Volkswagen Tiguan before going to a friend’s apartment.
“She confirmed that she heard me lock my door; we actually heard the alarm beep to confirm that,” said the Vancouver woman.
They were only gone for a couple of hours, but when they returned Mackie discovered that her car had been broken into – her phone and sunglasses missing, the papers in the front glove compartment scattered on the floor – in spite of there being no signs of forced entry.
Once again, police believe that a high tech “gadget” was involved. In fact, there are some that believe that one of these gadgets can be purchased online for as little as 5 dollars…
All indications point to a new device in the growing high-tech arsenal of car thieves, one that mimics a car’s keyless entry system, illegally unlocking any door with the push of a button. The gadget can reportedly be purchased online for as little as $5.
And this could only just be the beginning of a major high tech crime wave.
Thanks to all of the “technology” that is in our vehicles these days, they are potentially more vulnerable to hackers than ever.
According to ABC News, researchers have found that hacking into onboard computers and remotely controlling vehicle behavior is not that hard to do…
The possibility of this even stranger and more dangerous crime is lurking on the horizon. Most modern cars use computers to control everything from engine compression to cruise control, airbags and brakes. Those computers communicate with each other on open networks. Using an $80,000 grant from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), two researchers recently hacked the onboard computers of a Toyota Prius and a Ford Escape SUV.
They made the Prius accelerate and brake, as well as jerk the wheel while traveling at high speeds. They managed to turn the Ford’s steering wheel at low speeds and disable the brakes, which caused researcher Charlie Miller to drive the SUV into his garage and totally destroy his own lawnmower. This is the stuff of nightmares.
So could this kind of hacking have been involved in some of the very unusual “car accidents” that we have seen in recent years?
I am just asking the question.
Most people assume that all of this high technology that surrounds us these days is making us a lot safer.
But that is not really the case at all.
As technology advances, so do the criminals. And if we are not aware of our vulnerabilities, we potentially become easy prey for those that would like to take advantage of us.

Woman Touted as Obamacare Success Story is Now Kicked Off Obamacare
Meet Jessica Sanford. Upon the rollout of Obamacare she was 1 of maybe 5 people in the entire nation who was able to access the website and actually sign up through one of the state exchanges. In her case, it was the Washington exchange. She was so thrilled about her purchase that she wrote a letter to President Barrack Obama expressing her undying gratitude. Since her letter was quite possibly the only positive letter the Administration received, Barry O proudly read it aloud during his Obamacare speech on October 21st.
The only problem is that a few days later she was repriced out of Obamacare. So she’s now uninsured again…
The ineptness of this President is truly unprecedented. See below:

The Obama Administration is Forcing Insurance Companies to Keep Quiet About ObamaCare Problems
Just when you think the Obama Administration can’t stoop any lower they immediately come in and surprise you. In this incredible clip from CNN, we learn that insurance company executives are being threatened with retribution if they publicly criticize the rollout of ObamaCare, or inform the public about some of the most pressing issues with the disastrous healthcare plan.
In the most powerful part of the clip, Robert Laszewski, the President of Health Policy and Strategy Associates, LLC claims that healthcare executives warned the Obama Administration about severe problems with the rollout ahead of time, and that they were completely ignored. Our government in an inept mafia. Nothing more, nothing less.
I highlighted some of the issues with the plan back in June of last year in the piece: Thoughts on Obamacare from a Surgeon and Friend.

Was Cory Booker’s “start-up” just another way to raise big time cash without restrictions?
Earlier we reported how Cory Booker’s company named the 15 year old son of a CNN executive to the company’s board and then issued the young man stock options. The son immediately resigned after this information was made public by the press.
Now people are starting to ask more questions about the company which just happened to launch at the same time Cory Booker launched his Senate campaign.
(From MSNBC (Yes, MSNBC) )
It’s illegal to give a candidate $100,000 for his campaign, for example, because that much direct cash could make the candidate overly indebted to one person – or risk appearing too indebted. (The legal standard for this line is “appearance of impropriety,” the idea that politicians and institutions lose legitimacy if a conflict looks shady to the public, even if it’s only an appearance.)
Likewise, it’s illegal to give most politicians large gifts. You can buy a U.S. senator a T-shirt, if you’re not a lobbyist or foreign agent, but not a suit. (The gift cap is $50.)
But what about “giving” a candidate a large “investment” in his company?

Journalists fear covering the Benghazi story, don’t want to lose access (favored crony status)
It’s perfectly reasonable to expect the White House to stonewall the Benghazi investigation. There are fears that whatever happened that night might reflect poorly on the president, and perhaps even more importantly now, on Hillary Clinton who wants to be president. It makes sense that a White House which plays hardball all the time, plays hardball with reporters.
It doesn’t make it right however. Some reporters, many who have long cheered this president are starting to speak out, softly.
I have no idea what happened on September 11th of 2012, right before the presidential election. But I’d like to know more. I think the country would like to know more.
On July 31, CNN’s The Situation Room broadcast a portion of an interview conducted by reporter Arwa Damon with a suspect in the Benghazi attacks. The suspect revealed to Damon that no investigator has attempted to contact him regarding his involvement in that deadly assault. The following day, CNN’s Drew Griffin broke the news that more than 30 CIA agents were on the ground in Libya on the day of the attack and they are being pressured by the spy agency to not reveal to reporters or congressional investigators what they know of the events of that night. Some CNN reporters are reportedly fearful now that their access to the White House will be hampered following their probing into a story that members of the Obama administration would prefer remain uninvestigated…
…“I would suggest it’s not an accident that those who have been given a lot of access to the president have generally been AWOL when it comes to stories that might reflect poorly on him,” the source, who did not wish to be identified, continued. “It’s the name of the game. And it’s bad for everyone trying to do this job the right way.”
Battle Royale on Piers Morgan: Glenn Greenwald, James Risen and Jeffrey Toobin
That’s the thing I don’t understand about the climate in Washington these days. People want to have debates on television and elsewhere, but then you want to throw the people that start the debates in jail.
- James Risen, New York Times Pulitzer Prize Winning Journalist (he now faces jail time)
The above quote occurred during an excellent discussion between Glenn Greenwald, James Risen and Jeffrey Toobin on Piers Morgan’s show. While pretty much everyone on planet earth knows who Glenn Greenwald is at this point, most people do not know who James Risen is. This is a situation that must change. Mr. Risen is at the center of another very important case that threatens the future of freedom of the press in these United States.
In his book State of War, James Risen published information leaked to him by former CIA agent Jeffrey Sterling, who is currently being charged under the Espionage Act by President Transparency, Barrack Obama. While a lower court had previously ruled Mr. Risen should be afforded reporter privilege to not testify against Mr. Sterling, a federal appeals court last month saw it differently in a 2-1 decision.
James Risen has vowed to go to jail rather than testify against his sources, which makes his debate with CNN’s “senior legal analyst” Jeffrey Toobin all the more amusing. Toobin is a surveillance state lapdog apologist who regularly appears on television condemning people as criminals for informing the public about the government’s criminality.
This is an excellent watch and I also suggest my readers research more into Risen’s case. If you are pressed for time, fast forward to around minute 4.

Rep. Peter King Blasts Rand Paul For ‘Apologizing For America’: ‘Fringes’ Will ‘Destroy’ GOP
Congressman Peter King appeared on CNN’sState of the Union on Sunday morning and warned that Senator Rand Paul’s “isolationist streak” will destroy the GOP in much the same way the anti-war movement crippled the Democrats in the 1970s and 80s.
“To me the overriding concern here has to be national defense, national security, and not be apologizing for America,” King said. “When you have Rand Paul actually comparing [Edward] Snowden to Martin Luther King, Jr., or Henry David Thoreau, this is madness. This is the anti-war left wing Democrats of the 1960s that nominated George McGovern and destroyed their party for almost twenty years. I don’t want that happening to our party.”
King, a vocal proponent of robust national security measures, was revved up over this week’s vote on an amendment to defund the NSA surveillance program.
“I thought it was absolutely disgraceful that so many Republicans voted to defund the NSA program, which has done so much to protect our country,” King said. “This is an isolationist streak that is in our party. It goes totally against the party of Eisenhower, Reagan, Bush. We are party of national defense, we’re a party who did so much to protect the country over the last few years.”
Host Candy Crowley asked King if he thought the divide between the neo-conservatives and the newly-resurgent libertarian wing led by Paul signalled a serious schism in the GOP.
“I want the Republican Party to be the party of strong national defense, and a party, for instance, which can reach out to labor unions, such as construction unions, police officers, firefighters,” King said. “These are people who are socially conservative and want to agree with us, and too many people in our party drive them away.”
