September is winding down and that leaves us with about 4 months until primaries begin. Four months can seem like a very long time, but trust me, it’ll fly by quickly and before you know it, the primaries will be here. We MUST be prepared. There is no time to waste. As you all know, we have a A LOT riding on this. So, let’s look at the rundown of what’s coming up:
o February 6 – Confirmed date of the Iowa caucuses
o February 14 – Expected date of New Hampshire primary
o February 18 – Confirmed date of the Nevada caucuses
o February 28 – Confirmed date of the South Carolina primary
* February 28 – Confirmed date of the Arizona primary, in violation of the Republican National Committee rules
* February 28 – Expected date of the Michigan primary, in violation of the Republican National Committee rules
* March 6–31, 2012: Primaries (and other contests) that provide for proportional allocation of delegates to the candidates, and all nonbinding caucuses;
* April 1, 2012 onward: All other contests.
So, the first four primaries are Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, and South Carolina. These will be our first large battlegrounds of the season. These four primaries will sway public opinion and have an impact on the outcome of the future primaries. We MUST make the largest IMPACT possible on these four primaries. So, what if you don’t live in one of these four states, what can you do?…. Here’s what you can do: Support the moneybombs, so we can make sure to have top notch advertising in all four states! Use the internet to make friends in those states, educate them and encourage them to vote for Ron Paul! Make videos supporting the Ron Paul movements in each of these states, we need to let our fellow Paul supporters know we’ve got their backs! Go to these states and help campaign, (if you’ve got the time & money, and you like to travel, these states could use your help). Honestly, there must be thousands of ways YOU can help Dr. Paul win these key primary states, so, PLEASE share your ideas with the rest of us here on the DP. Ideas tend to grow when you share them!
Anyway, let’s not wait till the last minute. Procrastination is fine when you’re working on term papers for college or high school, but it just won’t fly in a political campaign. We have to get focused and energized! Just think about this: Every time you think to yourself, “Well, I was gonna give to the moneybomb, but someone else will probably give enough to where it won’t matter if I donated or not” and “Well, I was going to go to the rally, but there will be plenty of people there, so it doesn’t really matter if I go” and “Well, I could talk to some of my friends about Dr. Paul, but I’m sure someone else will talk to them, so I probably don’t need to”, Remember, there might not always be a “someone else”. What if we all depended on “someone else”? Where would our campaign be right now?…. YOU must make an effort on your own! It is our campaign’s sense of individualism that makes us so strong… and we must build it up to become even STRONGER! So, get out there, let’s see if we can wake up FOUR states in FOUR months…grassroots style! Get out there and make it happen! RON PAUL 2012! PEACE is counting on YOU!!!
UPDATE: SOUTH CAROLINA!!! You may have less time than we expected due to Arizona’s funny business. It’s looking like the SC primary will be moved to a sooner date, but we still don’t know WHEN that will be (SC GOP is apparently concerned about missing football season). Here’s what I wrote the other day on behalf of Revolution PAC, the organization all the cool pro-Ron Paul people are supporting:
The media’s treatment of Ron Paul has given us a bizarre glimpse into what it must have been like to get your news behind the Iron Curtain.
Stories of the Iowa Straw Poll told us who came in first and third. News programs refer to a “top tier” of Romney, Perry, and Bachmann, even though Dr. Paul is out-polling Bachmann.
The establishment practically begged us to like Tim Pawlenty. We fell asleep during his first sentence.
Then it was Jon Huntsman whom the media told us was a credible candidate worthy of attention. He’s at 2%, and not rising. There’s no Jon Huntsman Revolution.
At the top, they’re happy enough with Mitt Romney and Rick Perry, neither of whom would change a blessed thing.
The media campaign to erase Ron Paul from existence is backfiring. It’s occurring to a lot of people: if a candidate came along who actually told Americans the truth – about both domestic and foreign policy – this is exactly the treatment we would expect him to receive…so, might Ron Paul be that candidate?
Some media figures have tried to defend their exclusion of Dr. Paul – why, he promotes ideas that we at the Washington Post haven’t granted you permission to hold!
But the worst thing you can say to someone, especially a young person, is don’t listen to X! You can bet your bottom dollar that the first thing that person is going to do is Google X.
So how do we crack through? How do we get around the media?
We go directly to the public, with the most powerful and compelling portrayal of Dr. Paul we can.
That’s where Revolution PAC comes in.
We are an organization of grassroots Ron Paul supporters, each of whom is deeply devoted to the cause and gets results.
We are not merely seeking to promote a man who wants to balance the budget, or who is a 26 percent better conservative Republican than the other conservative Republicans. If that’s our approach, we will lose.
We intend to promote Ron Paul in a way that is worthy of this great man, that helps people understand why there are signs for Ron Paul, and for no other candidate, all over town.
He is not merely a better version of his opponents. He is a class apart. That’s what we’re saying in our TV ad, “Plastic Men” – which got the attention of the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Politico, and The Hill. Watch it and see why.
We need your help to get it on the air in important primary states.
Your donation will go directly to that purpose. No six-figure salaries, massive overhead, or large expense reimbursements here. Just regular Americans putting their skills and talents to the service of our great cause.
We have other ads in mind, too, if you can help us get this one on the air. With a man like Ron Paul, the ads practically write themselves.
Remember, since we are a Super PAC, there are NO LIMITS on the donations Revolution PAC is able to accept from individuals, organizations and businesses.
If you maxed out to the Ron Paul campaign today, and/or if you agree with our vision and support what we are doing, please consider helping us.
This is the apex of Ron Paul’s career. He has toiled for us, often alone, for over 30 years. Mitt Romney and Rick Perry are seeing millions pour into their Super PACs so their donors can get a seat on the gravy train. Can we count on you to help a man who will derail that train?
I don’t expect our country to get a better chance than this one, at this historic moment.
Monday, September 19, is our Super PAC Super Bomb. Help us show the public the real Ron Paul. Help us produce the ads we’ve all been wanting to see. Help us help Ron Paul, and our country.
Be a part of it.
The community organizing pigs again line up to feast at the taxpayers’ trough.
ACORN and other radical left-wing groups would be eligible for up to $15 billion in federal funding if President Obama’s new economic stimulus package becomes law.
Now that public polling shows Americans are realizing that economic stimulus programs don’t work, the Obama administration is calling the latest round of futile stimulus a “jobs bill.” In a sense it really is a jobs bill: a jobs bill for Saul Alinsky-inspired community organizers.
The draft legislation, which had not yet been introduced in Congress at press time, makes ACORN, Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America (NACA), and a phalanx of leftist groups that regularly feed at the public trough eligible for funding.
Section 261 of the bill provides $15 billion for “Project Rebuild.” Grants would be given to “qualified nonprofit organizations, businesses or consortia of eligible entities for the redevelopment of abandoned and foreclosed-upon properties and for the stabilization of affected neighborhoods.” Radical groups like ACORN won’t get the whole $15 billion, though, because they will have to compete with state and local governments for the money.
ACORN would have to get creative to extract grant money from the $5 billion allotted in the legislative package for two other competitive grant programs covered in sections 214 and 215. At first glance ACORN wouldn’t seem to be eligible for funding under the Community Oriented Policing Stabilization Fund and First Responder Stabilization Fund, but oddly enough the group has managed over the years to receive funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, so anything’s possible.
But there is every reason to believe ACORN, which has long been in the real estate development business, will get a chunk of the $15 billion. President Obama, who used to work for ACORN, wants to give his allies taxpayer dollars regardless of whether it is lawful to do so.
In March of this year, Obama’s Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) gave a $79,819 grant to the Miami branch of the massive conglomerate known as ACORN Housing Corp. (AHC). AHC filed papers in 2010 legally changing its name to Affordable Housing Centers of America (AHCOA). The nonprofit corporation owed $162,813 in back taxes to the IRS, states, and cities as of this past July.
On Aug. 30th, 2011 Westboro Baptist Church called for a picket of the Foo Fighters show in Kansas City. We had a little something up our sleeve. God Bless America.
Representatives Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), Hank Johnson (D-GA) and Jim Moran (D-VA) have introduced legislation to completely eliminate the federal debt ceiling, but the bill has little chance of survival with Republicans in control of the House.
“The debt ceiling is truly arbitrary and has nothing to do with the deficit,” Nadler said in a statement. “The debt ceiling does not prevent the United States from incurring new debts, but has become a cudgel with which Republicans are holding our economy hostage and punishing the millions of Americans who are struggling.”
Public opinion of Congress plummeted after the contentious federal debt ceiling debate in July. According to a CBS News/New York Times poll released shortly after the debt ceiling bill was signed into law, 72 percent disapproved of how Republicans in Congress handled the debate, and 66 percent of Americans disapproved of how Democrats handled it.
The poll was conducted on August 2 and 3, immediately after lawmakers and the president reached an agreement to would raise the debt ceiling until 2013 and cut the federal deficit by about $2.1 trillion over a 10-year period.
The three Democrats proposed the bill, the The Full Faith and Credit Act, to prevent Republicans from using the debt ceiling as a bargaining chip to demand budget cuts.
“Republicans in Congress undermined the economy and faith in the country by threatening to force default,” said Johnson. “The Full Faith & Credit Act will prevent politicians from holding the nation’s credit hostage ever again.”
On September 18th 2001, one week after the September 11th attacks,
letters containing anthrax spores were mailed to several news media
offices and two Democratic U.S. Senators, killing five people and
infecting 17 others.
This attack provided a distraction from 9/11 investigations, and
despite what the FBI tells you, Lee Harvey Oswald didn’t do it…
History Channel on Anthrax Attacks
From the one hour History Channel’s show Conspiracies: Anthrax Attacks explaining how the weaponized strain could only come from the United States BioDefense Program.
Additional information from the link above.
After seven years of destroying evidence and intimidating witnesses, the FBI has finally “caught” the individual responsible for the 2001 anthrax attacks. Or so they say.
Bruce Ivins may or may not have been involved in the anthrax attacks. Now that he’s dead, we’ll never know because it will be “case closed.”
What we do know for sure is that the anthrax attacks, right on the heels of 9/11: 1) terrorized Congress and 2) gave Bush/Cheney a reason to stop the FBI investigation of the 9/11 attacks.
That’s right…The FBI stopped the 9/11 investigation before it even got started. Look it up.
The FBI STOPPED its 9/11 investigation just weeks after 9/11 and “focused” all of its resources on finding the source of the anthrax attacks.
Seven years later, their heroic efforts have finally born some fruit.
A lone gunman. Dead by his own hand. With the noble G-Men hot on his sinister trail.
Cased closed. Move along. There’s nothing to see here folks.
UPDATE: Since we posted this, Mr. Spertzel, a member of the biological-weapons section of Unscom from 1994-99 and member of the Iraq Survey Group posted this deep in the back pages of the Wall Street Journal:
“We should all remember that the case (against Ivins) needs to be firmly based on solid information that would conclusively prove that a lone scientist could make such a sophisticated product.
The multiple disciplines and technologies required to make the anthrax in this case do not exist at Army’s Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (where Ivins worked.)
What the US government hopes you never find out about anthrax, anthrax vaccines, and the real risk to the nation
An affiliate of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) received another $300,000 in taxpayer funding in early August, The Daily Caller has learned.
President Barack Obama’s Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded the $300,000 grant to the post-ACORN ally: The Affordable Housing Centers of America (AHCOA). The Obama administration awarded the money despite a 2010 law saying no taxpayer funds could be issued to ACORN “or any of its affiliates, subsidiaries, or allied organizations.”
AHCOA was previously named “Acorn Housing Corporation,” a group that did a lot of business with ACORN. Acorn Housing changed its name to AHCOA in late 2009.
Until the end of August, AHCOA’s website boasted that it was “formerly Acorn Housing Corporation.” The organization has since removed that bit of history.
The “new” organization has the same Chicago address and phone number as Acorn Housing did. AHCOA has also been using Acorn Housing’s old Data Universal Number System (DUNS) code to apply for and receive taxpayer-funded grants. A DUNS number is unique, organization-specific and location-specific, implying that AHCOA may be no different from Acorn Housing.
The way HUD and the Obama administration justify funding AHCOA is by saying it’s not “affiliated” or “allied” with ACORN. To make their case, the Obama officials rely on a September 29, 2010 Government Accountability Office (GAO) report arguing the case that AHCOA isn’t “affiliated” or “allied” with ACORN.
The GAO argument is that since AHCOA changed its name and cut off official financial ties with ACORN, it’s still legally allowed to receive taxpayer money, as AHCOA is not technically connected with ACORN when applying the legal definition of “affiliated” or “allied.”
Dan Epstein, executive director of the Freedom Through Justice Foundation, told The Daily Caller that the administration and GAO’s interpretation of the law is twisted, and it’s pretty clear that AHCOA shouldn’t be getting taxpayer cash. Epstein said the latest $300,000 grant is a violation of the law that was supposed to have defunded ACORN.
“The recent grant of $300,000 of taxpayer dollars to the Affordable Housing Centers of America reflects the degree to which the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has ignored the will of the Congress and the people it represents to stop wasting federal funds on organizations which have a history of mismanagement and fraud,” Epstein said. “ACORN, its affiliates and subsidiaries, represent the kind of fraud that put all Americans in this economic recession in the first place.”
HUD spokesman Jereon Brown cited the aforementioned GAO report as a legal basis for giving taxpayer cash to AHCOA.*
Failed solar panel maker Solyndra’s Securities and Exchange Commission filings show that seven months after the Obama administration’s Department of Energy approved a $535 million federal loan guarantee, Solyndra applied for a second one valued at $469 million.
“On September 11, 2009, we applied for a second loan guarantee from the DOE, in the amount of approximately $469 million, to partially fund Phase II,” Solyndra wrote in a report it filed with the SEC on December 18, 2009. “If we are unable to obtain the DOE guaranteed loan in whole or in part, we intend to fund any financing shortfall with some combination of the proceeds of this offering, cash flows from operations, debt financing and additional equity financing.” (RELATED: White House wary of Solyndra re-election effects)
Solyndra applied for that extra $469 million the same year it received the $535 million of ultimately wasted taxpayer money which is the subject of a current congressional investigation. According to the company’s SEC filings, that $535 million was only intended to cover Phase I of the construction of its “Fab 2″ solar panel manufacturing facility.
The second application came just one week after Solyndra broke ground on its facilities construction project on Sept. 4, 2009.
Solyndra told the federal government it needed a total of $642 million to complete Phase II, most of which would have been covered by the $469 million Solyndra sought to borrow with taxpayer-funded guarantees.
It’s unclear if the now-bankrupt and scandal-embroiled green energy company actually received a second loan. Department of Energy officials did not immediately respond to The Daily Caller’s request for comment, and the company’s SEC filing left the question open.
“Although the DOE determined on November 4, 2009, that our initial application was complete, and we submitted the second part of the application on November 17, 2009, there is no guarantee that the DOE will approve our application in the full amount requested or at all,” the company wrote in its December 18, 2009 SEC filing.
Dan Simmons of the Institute for Energy Research told TheDC that Solyndra’s failure looks even worse in light of its aim for even more taxpayer money in 2009.
“Solyndra saw the American taxpayer as their personal piggy-bank, so it’s no surprise that they wanted another half billion dollar loan from the taxpayer,” Simmons said in an email. “The only surprise is that the Obama administration rejected the second loan. After all, both private and Department of Energy financial analysts were not excited by Solyndra’s prospects before the first loan.”
